EGSL assists clients in developing occupational health standards through the research of epidemiological, toxicity, and industrial hygiene data. EGSL presents investigations to regulators on various work safety standards, and works closely with the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s (OSHA) approach to formaldehyde risk assessment.

Case Study

An employee in an office complained of skin rashes on her legs while at work.  When her supervisors failed to investigate, she contacted OSHA. The OSHA compliance officer cited the company and gave them two weeks to report their findings.  EGSL interviewed the worker, analyzed her symptoms and performed a sampling of the area.  EGSL discovered that she was rubbing her leg under her graphite desk – a situation that was easily remedied.
