New State-of-the-Art Remediation Training Facility Completed

In line with our mission to provide the best services in the industry, EGSL has completed it’s new training facility focused on Environmental Remediation. Classes include Initial and Refresher classes specializing in Asbestos, Mold, O & M, LEA Designated Person and Awareness training. The training area is comprised of a comfortable classroom setting that includes individual viewing screens for the classroom portion and a designated area for hands-on demonstrations of techniques that can be applied immediately to student’s jobs. All of EGSL’s training courses are accredited in accordance with 40 CFR Part 763 (AHERA), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). EGSL has provided occupational health awareness and safety training related to the abatement industry for more than 15 years. In addition to training at our facility, EGSL also offers private corporate training on site or at a company’s own facility.

EGSL Plays Vital Role at Ping Tom Park

When EGSL performed a routine site investigation, we didn’t know that our unexpected findings would play a role in in cost savings at Ping Tom Park. As a resource to the Public Building Commission of Chicago, EGSL was contracted to perform ground penetrating radar to identify any anomolies at the site prior to construction. Expecting a few rocks and some debris, EGSL was surprised to find remnants of a former rail yard, buried just below the surface. What could have been considered “bad news” for the project, instead presented new opportunities and cost savings that benefit the community. In response to our findings, the PBC, along with the Ping Tom Project Team determined that new configurations of the site would not only allow for an additional building, but the money saved by working around the buried debris would fund the new pool that the community had hoped for. EGSL Receives New Contract with PBC

EGSL is excited to have the opportunity to work with The Public Building Commission of Chicago on the Environmental Consulting Services for Renovation and Demolition projects thoughout the city. The five year task order contract will include inspections, drawings and specifications and performance of renovation/demolition oversitght activities including hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal activities and the oversight of lead and asbestos abatement activities.
